Mad Men makes you forget your problems.

I got a hair cut the other day and the stylist mentioned to me about the show Mad Men because apparently the 60’s hair cuts are back in style because of the show. She asked me if I watched it yet and I had not. I decided that I would check it out and pulled it up on Netflix.

I have gotten most of the way through the first season and I really have to say that watching the kind of problems and issues that the characters have to go through seemed to make light of my own problems. It’s not just the scenarios themselves but it really feels like it was written from experience. The characters just feel real even though most of them put up a front. You really get a sense that there is something behind them and that makes there problems seem very real.

I came away from watching it with a larger sense if solace that at least my problems that I have aren’t that bad and really gave me a sense of perspective.

If you haven’t watched it yet I do recommend taking a peak.

“… no larger than a good sized rat and quaintly called by the townspeople, “BROWN JENKIN” - seemed to have been the fruit of a remarkable case of sympathetic herd-delusion, for in 1692, no less than eleven persons had testified to glimpsing it. There were recent rumors, too, with a baffling and disconcerting amount of agreement. Witnesses said it had long hair and the shape of a rat, but that it’s sharp-toothed, bearded face was evilly human while it’s paws were like tiny human hands.”

Finished modeling the head. Last update on this today I think. Next step will be to start seeing if I can texture this.

This came out really well IMO. I’m quite happy with the results.
